5) Our Own Award Winning Tertiary Hospital

Sime Darby Medical Centre Subang Jaya

Our students gain practical training at our very own multiple award-winning Sime Darby Medical Centre (SDMC) Subang Jaya; a 393 bed tertiary care hospital in the Klang Valley. SDMC is currently the only two-time winner of the Prime Minister Award for Quality and accredited to the ISO and OHSA standards.

SDMC Subang Jaya has earned accreditation from the Joint Commission International (JCI), the worldwide leader in improving the quality of healthcare. With this accreditation, SDMC Subang Jaya has become the first hospital in Selangor to meet the international healthcare quality standards for patient care and organization management.

SDMC Subang Jaya also attained accreditation for its medical laboratory under the MS ISO 15189 standard for quality and competence and is the first centre to be accredited to MS ISO 15189 for Cytogenetics.

Other centres under the Healthcare Division include Sime Darby Specialist Centre Megah; a day-care centre with multiple specialties. Two other hospitals, Sime Darby Medical Centre Ara Damansara and Sime Darby Medical Centre Desa Park City are expected to start operations in 2011 and 2013 respectively. With these, our students have ample opportunities to practice their clinical skills.

6) Value-Added Education

The training provided to our students affords the best possible exposure to the latest in medical technology. The students gain additional exposure in clinical areas such as Operating Theatre, Emergency & Trauma Room, Cancer Centre, Vascular and Interventional Radiology (VIR), Day Care Surgery and Outpatient Centre. Students will acquire competency through real-life experiences in a clinical setting that complies with international standards of care.
